Look and see what the Lord has done!
This year, by the amazing work of God, two congregations in Fulton County, AR, Immanuel Southern Baptist Church and Ozarks Bible Church, united together as one Body, as Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, for the worship of His great Name and the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus’s prayer in John chapter 17 was the beginning drive for both Pastor Luke and Pastor Cory. In verses 21-23, Jesus requests of God the Father, “that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.”
In this coming together, in a time when the spirit of individuality is rampant not only in our culture, but also in many churches, we have seen two congregations selflessly sacrifice their own desires, preferences, and church identities to pursue a deeper unity with our God and seek to display His glory to the world around us through love and unity.
Over the last several months, there have been sweet times of fellowship and unifying worship, but also challenging, sometimes hard conversations. But the grace of God never failed, and we give Him thanks for the privilege we have to testify of His great work here at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church.
Christ:
The Foundation of This Church is the Lord Jesus Christ, and its infallible rule for guidance in all it does: the Word of God. This church affirms that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of Almighty God.
Fellowship:
The Purpose of This Church shall be to glorify and enjoy the God of the Scriptures according to the teaching of His Word.
The Priorities of the Ministry of This Church flow from the worth and beauty of Jesus Christ, Who is the full expression of God’s glory. We exist to exalt Him in worship, increase our awareness of His glory through the preaching and teaching of His Word, and spread the knowledge of Him by evangelism, missions, and loving deeds.
Baptist:
A key doctrinal distinction - The Scriptures teach that all who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are to be baptized by full immersion in water for the cleansing of sin.
Therefore, we are also in cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and the Rocky Bayou Baptist Association.
