Purpose

To glorify and enjoy

the God of the Scriptures

Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" 1 Corinthians 10:31

We are committed to the purpose and priorities of the Scriptures which is the Glory of God.

By the Holy Spirit, Christ equips all members of His Body to participate in the work of ministry in order to accomplish their divine purpose of worship and witness.

Priorities

Our priorities flow from the worth and beauty of Jesus Christ, Who is the full expression of God’s glory (Jn 1:18; 2 Cor 4:6).

We exist to exalt Him in worship, increase our awareness of His glory through the preaching and teaching of His Word (walk), and spread the knowledge of Him by evangelism, missions, and loving deeds (witness).

Worship

Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:28-29

Walk

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:1-3

Witness

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

Believe & Teach

Christians throughout the history of the church have summarized in brief, definitive statements what Holy Scripture teaches in order to clarify what is true and to guard the church from error.

The BFM summarizes the basic beliefs of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church and are foundational to Christianity. While this doctrinal statement does not exhaustively explain what we believe, it highlights important teachings our church upholds. Members of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church joyfully confess the truths of the BFM.

The elders of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church affirm the 2LBCF, which is a more exhaustive summary of the fundamental truths of God’s Word and can assist our growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and prepare us to give a reason for our hope that is within us. Members of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church are not required to affirm everything within it wholeheartedly.

A Christian is one who is united with Christ by faith and therefore is also united and committed to the purpose and priorities of His Body, the local church.  We solemnly join ourselves together in a holy union and fellowship by humbly submitting to the discipline of the gospel and all holy duties required of a people in such a spiritual communion.

Other Distinctives

Congregational

One Body and Many Members

We recognize that the authority of Christ is vested in the whole congregation (Galatians 1:8–10; Matthew 18:15–20) as the final earthly authority in matters prescribed by God in the scriptures. The purpose of this divinely given authority to the local church is for the protection of the gospel and the purity of the church, in order that God's work of redemption will continue as He has commanded.

Elder Led

Shepherding the Flock of God

Christ has prescribed that local congregations be led by godly men who have been duly appointed to lead and oversee the church. Therefore, Christ Fellowship Baptist Church is a congregational church led by elders. The elders carefully give spiritual direction to the church for the joy of each member

Fellowship

Knit Together in Christ

We are committed to the "one another's".

Love one another

Pray for one another

Bear one another's burdens

Bear with one another's weakness

Comfort one another

"the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." Eph 4:16

Family

Strong Families Make Strong Congregations

As the world looks to break the family, we strive to strengthen the family. We promise to encourage husbands as the head of their wives to love them as Christ does the church; to encourage wives to submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ; to encourage children to obey their parents in the Lord; and to encourage fathers to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
